Equality and Diversity Training
Designed to ensure all barristers, clerks and chambers senior management understand and implement the principles of equality and diversity throughout the workplace.
Equality at the Bar ensures all individuals are treated equally in status, their individual rights or opportunities they have access to. A diverse profession allows different skills and attributes to be brought to the Bar which will help drive change and modernisation.
Our in-house barristers have consulted with the Bar Standards Board in creating this Bar-specific Equality and Diversity module for members and employees within chambers. This module is intended to make you think about how your behaviour may impact others, even inadvertently.
What will you learn?
- An increased understanding of what equality and diversity at the Bar is.
- Be aware of the legal and regulatory requirements regarding equality and diversity.
- Recognise the different types of discrimination in their different forms.
- Understand the practical steps required to promote equality and diversity at the Bar.
- Understand your equality and diversity policy and the role of an Equality & Diversity Officer (EDO).
Who is this course for?
Barristers and Chambers staff who:
- Want to undertake training which will challenge and engage them, rather than completing a tick-box exercise.
